Liz Jones & Broken Windows

Liz Jones & Broken Windows are a ballsy roots rock 6 piece, with turns of psychedelia and gypsy blues. A band with something truly original to say, in what’s been coined ‘peaceful debauchery’ by their home following in Edinburgh. Fronted by singer and songwriter, Jones, with her “voice to wake the dead”, but this is music nuanced by every member, for lovers of rhythm, vibe, dynamics, and a ‘full fat live group’ filling a stage and sounding only like themselves. Fans of Scottish blues will recognise members from Blues’N’Trouble, The Allman’s Project.

Corralling some of Scotland’s best players, this six-piece have the talent to roam beyond the prescribed pentatonic box.

“When this group of eclectic, casual looking musicians join a stage, you could be forgiven for thinking they’d be there to ‘entertain’, a leg up from some decent gigging bar in their home town. At the end of the gig, you are a fan, wondering why they aren’t widely celebrated in the rockin live music world. There’s so much to love. Vocally, musically, in spirit and in energy, they deliver original songs in a way that make you feel part of the band. You’re accepted because you are in it for the music, for the songs, the smiling, the realness of confused genres, stage wobbles and the shared secret that wild and free music is underground, and it doesn’t care.”AUDIENCE REVIEW
DOUBLE MEASURES is the band’s latest album released in November 2024. A brand new full studio album capturing the bands continued original and varied roots music energy with their psychedelic rock “live gig feel” coming more into play.

“As nifty as it is exuberant, inebriated sway, a collectively textured double-measure slice of product”
