HISTORY

“Scotland in Miniature” became the backdrop for the inaugural Arran Rock ‘n Blues Festival in July 2018 where six bands produced a day to remember and put The Arran Rock ‘n Blues Festival on the map. Then in 2019 the festival moved to a much larger marquee main stage by the sea in Lamlash & a secondary stage at The Pierhead Tavern, with 14 bands over two days. The festival was a sell out at 500 tickets. See reviews of both events below.

2020’s festival was all set to happen on the September holiday weekend. This date is particularly important to Arran as it was when music lovers came en-masse in the 1970’s to support the early years’ of hugely famous artists such as Alex Harvey & Teargas, Nazareth, Slade & Thin Lizzie (see the ARRANgements 1971). We hope that this date would become key in the calendar for blues and rock fans alike however due to Covid we were unable to go ahead with the festival .
